This month’s car belongs to Mark Freid a 1972 Chevelle SS
She was purchased Memorial Day Weekend 2007 in Bettendorf, Iowa. The car was all in pieces the fenders holding on by 2 bolts each. Mark strapped down all the parts and brought her home on a trailer. It took about 4 plus years to put her back together; she was painted in 2009 and finished on Black Friday 2011. Unfortunately Mark got his first speeding ticket the very next day. He must have had to blow out the cob webs?
She has a 350 motor, 350 Turbo Transmission, 3.73 Posi rear end. Mark changed the stock seats to one with lumbar adjustments. Mark did all the work putting her together and the painting except for the Transmission. Nice job Mark.
Mark was one of the over 2500 Long Haulers on the Power for 2014. The car did great for the over 3100 mile trek. A funny story here is 2 days after getting back a front wheel bearing fell apart. He’s glad it waited to do this here and not in the mountains of Tennessee or West Virginia.
